US Seizes Crypto and Domains Linked to Dark Web Marketplace BidenCash
U.S. authorities have dismantled BidenCash, a dark web marketplace specializing in stolen credit card data, seizing 145 domains and undisclosed amounts of cryptocurrency. The operation marks a significant blow to cybercriminal networks.
Prosecutors revealed BidenCash facilitated over 15 million fraudulent transactions since its 2022 launch, generating $17 million in revenue. The marketplace gained notoriety by leaking millions of card records for free, a tactic to attract cybercriminals to its platform.
The takedown aligns with global enforcement efforts like Operation RapTor, which recently resulted in 270 arrests and $200 million in seizures across 10 countries. Seized domains now redirect to law enforcement servers, effectively shutting down operations.
